Senior Accountant (SEC/Reporting)
Location: Orlando, FL

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
Responsible for the preparation and review of accurate and timely financial reporting packages for the company’s internal and external recipients; including SEC filings, management and rating agency packages. Responsible for researching and summarizing GAAP and SEC issues for presentation to the accounting department and senior management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparation and review of SEC filings under 1934 Act
  • Preparation and review of condensed financial statements, footnotes and MD&A from accounting work papers; including Form 10-Q, 10-K, and corresponding schedules and exhibits
  • Detailed review and tie out all EDGAR documents
  • Assist with the preparation and review of the annual report to shareholders
  • Preparation and review of internal management reports (i.e. Fact Sheet, Portfolio Occupancy)
  • Preparation and review of monthly senior management reporting package
  • Preparation and review of various rating agency reporting requests
  • Review debt covenants
  • Proactively research SEC and GAAP accounting and reporting issues by monitoring websites, publications and other sources of new information
  • Prepare and review of quarterly summary of research for presentation to accounting department and senior management
  • Assist with internal and external auditors
  • Active involvement and monitoring of Sarbanes-Oxley requirement for entire company
  • Able to work 40 -45 hours per week with additional hours for peak work periods such as year-end, tax season and the end of each quarter during the preparation of 10-Qs and other projects
  • Other projects and duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibility.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Accounting Degree required from an accredited college or university. Two to four years previous related accounting experience required. Certified Public Accountant preferred.
